Cycling

Cycling Holidays and Cycling the French Alps is becoming more and more popular due to the extensive coverage every year of the Tour de France, and the success of British riders such as Bradley Wiggins and Chris Froome We are now offering tailored cycling holidays to experience the thrill and achievement of conquering the Cols in the Haute Tarentaise featured on the Tour de France.

Here in the Tarentaise Valley, The Tour de France quite often passes within 10 mins of the Chalet as we are situated very close to a few of the famous Cormet de Roselend, Col de Petit St Bernard,  Col d'Iseran and the  Col de Madeleine. These  are all rideable from the chalet door. Other Cols are nearby such as the Col de Galibier, Col de Forclaz and Col de Tamie near Lac du Annecy.

We can provide an organised cycling holiday in the French Alps for groups of riders to come and Cycle the Cols, (Minimum 4  people). We will look after you providing meals in the Chalet and a packed lunch so all you have to do is concentrate on making the summit.

Jonny recently completed the Sea to Slope (Route des Grandes Alpes),  riding 7 cols in 4 days, a gruelling 440 km with 27,500 feet of ascent. Starting from Villaroger cycling all the way to Nice on the Cote D'Azur, raising money for Help 4 Heros. He loved it so much we now offer this trip for a minimum of 8 people who would like to experience this Epic Tour. Included in this price are hotels, breakfasts, packed lunches and vehicle back up. Alternatively you may prefer something less energetic like a tranquil pretty ride along the cycle path from Bourg St Maurice to Aime along the river. You can incorporate this with a summer activities holiday or a relaxed family holiday with us.

Mountain Biking

Les Arcs offers Mountain Biker's a fabulous playground with single  track leaving directly from the chalet door.

The lifts in Les Arcs/ Tignes/ Val D'Isere and La Rosiere are open in July and August offering lots of choice and uplift. The popularity and availability of E-bikes means you can visit out of season too when the lifts are closed.

Bikes can be hired locally or bring your own.

Swimming

There are numerous pools close by, some linked to beautiful restaurants where you can take a delicious lunch in the garden , then relax by their pool with a bottle of Rose, or alternatively bigger pools (outdoor in July and August ) a short drive away. There are also mountain lakes to enjoy wild swimming.

Trips

Trip over to Italy: As we are situated very close to the Italian Border you can be in Italy within 45 mins by car. La Thuile and the Aosta Valley is steeped in history and the Architecture is totally different to the French Alps. Here you will enjoy a different culture and of course true Italian PIZZA. Take a trip to Courmayeur or Chamonix (through the Mont Blanc Tunnel) and enjoy a cable car up Mont Blanc to admire the magnificence of Europe's highest mountain. Trip to Lac Du Annecy: Annecy is described as one of the most beautiful towns in the whole of France. Sometimes called Little Venice you will fall in love with the little canals that infiltrate the town, beautiful old buildings, abundance of flowers and the glacial spectacular blue of the lake. Beautiful restaurants, quaint shops you can not fail to be impressed by and a medieval town Annecy has everything.

With over 425kms of pistes in Les Arcs and Paradiski alone, along with nearby resorts of Val D'Isere, Tignes, Sainte Foy and La Rosiere we are in a unique position where you have the ability to ski up to 7 different Resorts during your stay. Your Guide

Jonny your Guide is a fully qualified International Mountain Leader and has a true passion for the Mountains.

Having lived here in the French Alps for over 11 years he knows the area very well. Tour du Mont Blanc is one of his favourite routes, as well as the Tour du Vanoise. A skier/ snow shoer in the Winter and a Walking Guide in the Summer he feels lucky to work and live in his dream environment.

His knowledge of birds, wildlife and flowers stems from his childhood and his enthusiasm for life in the mountains is unyielding.

Our holidays offer a very personal touch as we are a family run business involved in all aspects from the initial booking to guiding you around the mountain and preparing your meals.

People arrive as guests but leave as friends!
